Housing Ceremony - Station 77

Sunday, May 17, 2015

The Georgetown Fire Co. Inc., held an Open House and Housing Cremoney for its new equipment that was put in service within the past year. The Open House was at 1 pm where the community came in to socialize, eat, and meet with their local fire company. The members had a surprise visit by Past Chief Donald Sipple and family. Past Chief Sipple has been at the Lifecare At Lofland for a long period of time now, but has not, nor will never be forgotten. He was on hand for the days event and gave his approval of all the new equipment, thank you Chief. At 2 pm was the start of the ceremony with an opening speech my VP Charles Stevenson IV, then followed by Fire Chief Dennis Swain, & Fire Commissioner Robert Ricker. Also on hand were the family members of R. Meldon Wilkins, whose gracious donation to the fire company purchased our new command vehicle. Also a plaque in the command area that thanks the family for their generous donation. After a few brief speeches everyone relocated to the front pad for the blessing of the apparatus which was given by fire company pastor Mike Williams. Following the blessing members on hand, Wilkins Family, and other guest helped back the apparatus into the fire station. After the benediction everyone stayed for food and drinks. A great time was had by all and a special thanks to all the members who made this possible.
