Georgetown Fire Department was requested to respond to a chimney fire by Georgetown Police Officer and 2nd Assistant Chief Mark Rogers. Upon arrival 77-4's crew made access to the residence and found smoke conditions and heavy petroleum odor in the residence. A search was made for any occupants, which were later determined to be at another location. Chief Engineer Jimmy Hitchens secured the oil burner and positive pressure ventillation was used to clear the residence. A reminder to all residents: Make sure your furnaces and chimneys are serviced on a regular basis.
