On July 1st, around 1700hrs, the Ellendale and Georgetown fire companies were dispatched to a reported working forest fire. Upon the arrival of 75-15, it was confirmed that a large area of woods was involved along an access road to the railroad tracks. The fire spread quickly North and slightly south before being extinguished. Chief Joey Pepper, assumed command of the Sorth sector while 75-15 established command along the North sector. Additional help was provided by the Millsboro, Milton, and Milford fire companies shortly after the extent of the blaze was discovered by Chief 75.
