Mobile Data System Goes Live - Sussex County

The SCVFA is pleased to announce the launching of the first mobile data computer. The unit was installed in the Georgetown Fire Company command unit and is the first of five units selected for the test phase of the project. The system allows for emergency units to communicate with the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center using a computer mounted in a vehicle. Furthermore, the system provides real-time mapping, pre-plans, call information, and several other useful features to personnel in the field. This project is a joint effort between the Sussex County EOC, EMS, & IT departments; along with, various members of the volunteer fireman's association. The SCVFA & the Georgetown Fire Company would like to thank all members that made this project possible.
