Passing of Life Member Irv Workman - Station 77

Sunday, May 17, 2015

It is with deepest regret that the Officers and Members of the Georgetown Fire Co., Inc. announce the passing 43 yr. Life Member Irv Workman. In such a short time the fire company has lost (2) members who were apart of the great foundation this company strives on. During his 43 yrs of service in the fire company Irv Workman was Past Vice President, Engineer, and was active on numerous sub committees. Two noted committees were the Oyster Eat and Golf Committee. Irv's love for golf was such a big help and made him such a great asset on the founding Golf Committee. To which this day is one of our biggest fund raisers. Irv retired from the Dupont Co. after 20 yrs of dedicated service, before that he work for a local gas company. If theres one thing Irv was most proud of in his talk at the firehouse was of his family. A family that is so dedicated to public service as he was and are also active within the Georgetown Fire Co., Inc. and Ladies Auxilary. This is a sad and quick lost not only for the fire company and the community, but of a great family that is so much loved by everyone.
