January 09, 2026

On Friday, January 9, 2026, officers and members of the Georgetown Fire Company gathered to celebrate the 78th birthday of Fire Police Captain Ralph Clausen. Ralph sustained critical injuries on November 3, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at the scene of a collision. He was subsequently airlifted to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

After weeks of recovery, Captain Clausen is now receiving rehabilitation at Pam Rehab, where he is making significant strides on his path to recovery.

The Georgetown Fire Company extends its heartfelt gratitude to Georgetown EMS/Station 93, Sussex County Department of Public Safety, Delaware State Police, Delaware State Police Aviation Section, and the dedicated staff at both Christiana Hospital and Pam Rehabilitation for their exceptional care and support provided to Ralph during this challenging time.
