On Monday, January 5, 2026, at approximately 12:54 PM, the Georgetown Fire Company responded to a fire alarm activation in the 32000 block of Light Street (Weston Willows). Upon arrival, the first responding units discovered a chair on fire on the balcony of a third-floor unit, accompanied by sprinkler activation. Fire crews conducted an assessment for potential fire extension and confirmed that there was no spread to the interior of the apartment unit. The investigation is currently being handled by the Delaware State Fire Marshal.
