Second Alarm Building Fire - Perdue Farms -Savannah Road

On October 8, 2004, around 1330 hours the Georgetown & Milton Fire Companies were dispatched to a reported building fire at Perdue Farms. Upon arrival of Assistant Chief Mark Rogers, he reported that there was smoke coming from the second story. Engine 77-4 responded with Chief Joey Pepper. Command advised the crew from engine 77-4 of the conditions and the location of the fire. Chief Pepper led his crew to the source of the fire and found heavy black smoke in the area of piece of machinery. The crew extinguished the fire with 300 gallons of water. In the meantime, Ladder 77?s crew checked for extension on the roof. The situation was brought under control and units were released after cleanup of the 100 ft of LDH.
